So, if you’ve launched a new store and you’ve tried 5-10 different products, you’ve tried many different traffic sources, you’ve tried different influencers on Instagram and you can’t get any products to really sell or at least break-even, then I would say, you’re at a stage where you can consider shutting down a store and moving to a new niche.
Now, again, or if you’re an experienced dropshipper, or at least if you have 2 or 3 successful stores, then you should possibly even decide to quit sooner than this because you know that you can sell.
You know that you know how it’s a lot of knows, you know how Instagram influencer work, you know how Facebook ads work.
So, the issue isn’t you.
If you’re a beginner, then perhaps your niche is great but you just suck at selling, you suck at ads, you don’t know anything yet.
So sticking in for longer makes sense if you are a beginner.
If you’re more advanced, then you’ll want to test quickly and also shut down quickly because there are many profitable niches.
There’s no reason to keep trying in a niche that isn’t working for you because there are so many others, there’s no cost of changing niches basically.
So, why not try new ideas.
Of course, you also don’t want to jump from my idea to idea so do give it some time.
These are my recommendations at least for a beginner.
If you’re a beginner and you’re getting the urge to change niches, sooner than this I would ask myself this question ‘Do you have a strong reason why this store is failing and why different niche or a different store would do better?’.
Often times, you just want to change for the sake of changing because this isn’t working and that’s where I’d say you have to be a little more patient.
Test 5-10 products, test 5-10 Instagram influencer shoutouts.
Of course, if you’re not doing Instagram influencer shoutouts, you’re doing Facebook ads from the get-go, then I have no empathy with you because that’s exactly why I recommend you start with influencers.
Those are the best way to get profitable sales when you’re just getting started.
If you’ve tried this, you can’t make money, quitting probably is a smart move.
Of course, I’m not talking about quitting dropshipping completely.
I’m just saying shut down this store and move to a different idea.
Don’t get co-opt on your original idea.
Most original ideas will fail and that’s the beauty of dropshipping. You can pave it more or less for no cost.
