An Honest Answer To The Question: “Is Dropshipping Worth It?”

is dropshipping worth it

Before you start dropshipping—or any kind of ventures—it is important to know if it’s worth pursuing or not.

Else, you’d be wasting your time doing something that you don’t want to do.

That’s why in this article, I will tell you everything you need to know for you to decide to start—or more move on—with dropshipping.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

👉 What dropshipping can do for anyone, from an ordinary kid to a business executive…
👉 The advantages and disadvantages of dropshipping (and what you can do to avoid the disadvantages)…
👉 If dropshipping is worth pursuing or not…

Let’s start . . .

Is Dropshipping Worthwhile Long-Term?

If you really think about it, dropshipping will never go away.

If it would, who do you think would be left selling stuff?

Here are you two examples 👇

Businesses who are:

⭐ Creating and manufacturing products by themselves and;
⭐ Buying warehouses to fill with inventory.

Not many people can afford to build these businesses . . .

And even if people could, they still wouldn’t want to do it.

Wanna know why?

Because many of those kinds of businesses fail within a year or two.

Sometimes even less.

Just imagine doing everything all at once, from creation to fulfillment . . .

Would you do it? Probably not.

More importantly, besides cash, you’ll need dozens of skills to run these kinds of businesses too.

(Business management, Financial management, Marketing, etc.)

Now . . . this is where dropshipping comes in.

Why Businesses—and Customers—Need Dropshippers

You see, those businesses mentioned above?

They need people to run dropshipping businesses.

Wanna know why?

Because with dropshipping, you get to help these businesses by:

👉 Being their #1 customer (you’ll consistently be ordering when successful)
👉 Taking most of their marketing and labor expenses and hassles away (Facebook Ads, Instagram Influencers, etc.) and;
👉 Helping them focus on where they’re already good at—creation and fulfillment—because you’re doing all the other stuffs for them.

Not only that, with dropshipping, you also get to help other people as well!

Do you remember the birthday of your bestfriend?

Anniversary of your parents?

What about Christmas last year?

During these important events, where did you get your gifts? Where do OTHER people get their gifts?

You see . . . dropshipping doesn’t only make you money, it satisfies everyone as well simply because it connects businesses to people who can benefit from their products.

Do you now see what dropshipping can do to make our lives better?

If yes, then it’s time to dive deeper into it.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Dropshipping

Advantages:

🔥 It doesn’t require much capital like other businesses do

You actually only need 3 things:

  • A website – you can use Shopify (it only costs $29 a month),
  • A supplier – they’re literally found everywhere . . . Aliexpress, wish.com, etsy, etc.

And most importantly?

  • Advertising – besides the actual product to sell, this is what makes or breaks your store.

If you do it well, you’ll be profitable.

If you don’t, you’ll be throwing money away.

Advertising is a very huge topic to cover . . .

🔥 No Inventory Expenses

Do you remember what I said in the first section?

Those big businesses literallyhandles all the inventory problems for you.

As a dropshipper, all you have to do is sell what’s in their inventory.

In simple form, this is what you’ll do as a dropshipper:

  1. Know your niche and know the products on that niche
  2. Find those product on these big businesses: Aliexpress, Etsy, Wish.com, etc.
  3. List that product for sale on your website
  4. Advertise it and;
  5. When you get an order, send an email to your supplier to ship that product to your customer.

And that’s it! It’s really that simple.

Disadvantages:

💧 Not everyone succeeds

Dropshipping isn’t easy (so are other businesses).

You need to work hard like any other successful person would and you need to be willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.

And most importantly: You need sales skills.

If you have the the experience or ability to sell stuff, then you can literally make money within 1-2 months in dropshipping.

💧 You have to find the right suppliers

In dropshipping, you sacrifice quality control, shipping times and even the packaging.

It’s beyond your reach.

The hardest part with starting dropshipping isn’t internal problems.

It’s external: Finding the right suppliers to deal with, finding the right platform (Shopify) and etc.

Having the right suppliers can mean the difference between success and failure.

So you can find one you can trust, and are of high-quality, then you’re ready to start selling.

Let’s go deeper:

💧 No control over products in stock

I once lost $2747.39 on refunds.

Why? Because a supplier went out of stock.

And guess what . . .

They didn’t bother to take the listing on Aliexpress down.

So I ended up having to refund a bunch of customers and lost $2747.39.

But don’t get discouraged though (if you are, dropshipping isn’t for you).

There will always be ups and downs in every business.

You just have to be strong—emotionally—and smart enough to navigate through those downs.

Now learn from my experience.

What can you do to avoid it?

Here’s one: Pick good products from reliable suppliers.

By doing this, you simply avoid external risks.

Everything will be fine as long as you treat it as a real business and be responsible for whatever happens to it.

The thing is though . . .

A lot of people think dropshipping is a scam . . . (more for us)

And they are right, some actually are.

But they’re not long term players and if they get caught, they’re dead.

So those people? They miss out a lot.

Better start a business ethically and do everything to make it succeed.

Now To Answer The Question: Is Dropshipping Worth It?

Honestly, that’s for you to decide.

A lot of people start dropshipping because they want to make a lot of money.

But making money isn’t the only reason why you’d do this.

If it was, you wouldn’t last a month.

You have to be true with yourself and ask some serious questions.

Do you really want to do this?

Are you willing to take the risks?

Work your ass off to make things work?

Don’t get me wrong. Dropshipping is good and easy once you get a hang of it.

You see . . . while there are risks, hassles and disadvantages in dropshipping, there are also rewards.

I mean, what’s the reason why a lot of people are doing it in the first place?

They know that its rewards are greater than the what they have to do to get it.

If you’re one of them and you’re willing to do whatever it takes to succeed . . .

Then yes.

Dropshipping is worth it.
