Should you send traffic to the homepage?
Well, the answer is absolutely not.
In most cases, you’ll always gonna want to send traffic straight to the product page just because that’s where people can add your product to the cart or buy it.
You want to make the funnel as short as possible when you’re getting started, at least.
The product page is where you can optimize it for sales of one specific product.
You can continue the sales process which is started off in the ad.
It is far more effective to send someone to a product page and then try to get them to buy rather than to send them to a homepage hoping they’ll click through to a product and then buy it.
Because you want to keep the focus streamlined from:
‘Oh this is cool!’
‘Okay I want this!’
‘What do I do?’
‘Okay, I click on add to cart and now I buy’
You want people to think in a streamlined way and you don’t want to ask them to go find the cool product on your homepage or whatever.
The homepage is for people who already know your brand, who already liked your products and they want to browse.
They want to see what else have you got before completing their orders.
From gaged shoppers, people who really really like your store, not for just cold traffic of a Facebook.
That’s also why you gonna have the lead collection on the homepage but not the product pages just because the product pages soul goal is to sell.
You’re not trying to distract people with social share buttons or lead collection.
